Buon Giorno! Co-owners, Vincenzo de Michelis and Nathan Aaron Place, are pleased to announce the establishment of Tuscan-Colors, Inc. as the world's first de luxe travel services provider operating exclusively in the Italian region of Tuscany and dedicated to the US GLBT community. The San Francisco-based company plans to offer an initial series of escorted tours in summer 2006. With a formula of unique accommodations - ranging from private villas to working wine estates to medieval castles - and extraordinary experiences including water color lessons in the Chianti countryside, midnight bathing in the thermal Cascades of Gorello, encounters with members of the gay artistic community of Pietrasanta and visits to the marble quarries of Carrara, Tuscan-Colors is determined to break the mold of traditional, whistle-stop touring. Initial offerings include several departures of L'Arte della Festa - a two-week comprehensive Grand Tour for gay men and their friends visiting Lucca, Pisa, the Chianti Wine Country, Siena, San Gimignano, Arezzo, Orvieto, the Tuscan Maremma and Florence. Exclusively for women, Sophisticated Ladies in Florence is a 9-day holiday based in the Tuscan capital with excursions throughout the region and off-the-beaten-track experiences like a bike ride around the walls of Lucca, a spa day at Montecatini, a shopping excursion to the designer outlets of Southern Tuscany and a cooking lesson in a Chianti Castle. A similar 9-day men's escorted "land-cruise," In the Footsteps of the Medici, stays in historic accommodations on the grounds of a Medici Hunting Lodge in the beautiful Arno Valley with daily excursions to the nearby highlights of the region.
