Tonight members of the community gave testimony and comment on Proposition 622, an update of the Human Rights Ordinance, in front of the Rules and Public Policy Committee of the City of Indianapolis and Marion County City-County Council
In a last push to gain and solidify support for Proposition 622, an update of the Human Rights Ordinance that would add sexual orientation and gender identity to anti-discrimination code in Marion County and the City of Indianapolis, community leaders are urging immediate community action.
Proposition 622 is now set to go before the full City-County Council for a final vote after a heated 5-3 vote in the Rules and Public Policy Committee on Tuesday night. Monday, December 19th is the scheduled special hearing of the full City-County Council to vote on this proposal.
