We are just weeks away from Indiana AIDS Walk 2012, and this year’s event on Saturday, September 29, will be a “Walk Around the Block” in the beautiful Herron Morton Place neighborhood. It’s a new route at a new time (4 -7 p.m.), but it won’t be a great walk without you and your team!
We are just weeks away from Indiana AIDS Walk 2012, and this year’s event on Saturday, September 29, will be a “Walk Around the Block” in the beautiful Herron Morton Place neighborhood. It’s a new route at a new time (4 -7 p.m.), but it won’t be a great walk without you and your team!
If you haven’t formed your Indiana AIDS Walk 2012 team yet, register at www.indianaaidswalk.org today. It’s as easy as 1 -2-3.
1. Select “Participant Registration” under the Participants Tab.
2. Agree to the terms of the website and then choose to Start a Team.
3. After you set your fundraising goals and fill out the required information, you can invite others to join you and/or support your efforts with a small donation.
September 29 will be a special day for reconnecting with friends, celebrating family and walking in support of those living with HIV/AIDS. All proceeds from the Indiana AIDS Walk supports the Gregory R. Powers Direct Emergency Financial Assistance (DEFA) Fund. DEFA provides funds for emergency shelter, utilities, food, medicine, transportation and other critical needs of those living with HIV/AIDS.
In addition to helping us raise much needed funds, the new route (see map) will be packed with entertainment and activities for everyone. Activities include a Wellness Fair, food trucks, and live entertainment, provided by Sober Nation. This is a family event, so bring the kids, cousins, grandparents, friends and more! As always, pets are welcome too and will have their own goodies, provided by Pet Supplies Plus and PetSmart.

In addition to awards for teams that raise the most money for the Gregory R. Powers DEFA fund, we will present awards for the Best Dressed Individual and the Most Spirited Team. We can’t wait to see what our awesome teams come up with this year!
New this year, we will provide a Red Ribbon Tree at the halfway point of the Indiana AIDS Walk, which will be planted after the Walk in a nearby park as a living memorial to those we love and have lost to AIDS.
And, immediately after the Walk, Gregs Our Place will be hosting a BBQ Party on the patio! The first 200 walkers get in free. (Must be 21 or older to enter)
